So I was just installing Office 2010 after reinstalling my computer, and opened Microsoft Word, and I was met with this interesting dialog:
Open Office XML or OpenDocument
Isn’t this a nice surprise. I knew that Office 2010 had OpenDocument support, but to put this in the forefront of a first run is quite nice. I’m guessing that most people won’t understand what this is, and will probably just choose OOXML but still, to have this on a first run is quite nice, and it’s glad to see Microsoft promoting the correct standard for documents.
As for my choice… ODF ftw
